VOCs and Cleaning Products

By Jim Bruno

Indoor air quality has always been a key component of effective green cleaning.  Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are a major control point from cleaning and sanitation products.

Studies are now showing that VOCs from cleaning products are also a large contributor to outdoor air pollution.  The following article from Science News is very informative…

Rochester Midland has been a leader in green chemistry for more than 30 years.  In addition to more than thirty products with GreenSeal, EcoLogo and USDA Biopreferred certification, Rochester Midland now has several products certified by GreenGuard Gold, which is the premier standard related to VOCs and Indoor Air Quality.   Learn more about their testing and standards here…

I encourage you to read the Science News article, familiarize yourself with GreenGuard Gold standards, and then think about your choices in household and commercial cleaning products.  Are you making the best choices in cleaning and sanitation products when there are so many easy options to reduce our impact on health and the environment?
